New Delhi: Following the alleged racist attack on six African in the national capital on Thursday, the Delhi Police on Saturday night arrested 5 people and detained 4 others in connection to the case.
According to reports, the police had started their investigation on Friday after the news came to light on Thursday night. The Delhi Police had registered three FIRs.
Reports also suggest that the Mehrauli police during its investigation in the case wanted to check out the CCTV footage, but unfortunately, those were not functional. Some eye witnesses were also taken into the investigation.
Dismissing that it was a racist attack, the Delhi police said that it was a minor issue and the victims only suffered some minor injuries.
However, the Catholic Bishop body has condemned the attack on African Nationals in the capital and said, “Racist attacks are unfortunate.”
The attack on African nationals in the capital is not a new case, as few days ago a Congo national was beaten to death near Kishangarh village.
Concerned over recent attacks on foreign nationals, the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had spoken to Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the safety of African students in New Delhi.

Racist attack on Africans

Racism is basically social issue and It is not only Govt. issue as news channels are projecting. Everyone in our country should work for it including Govt. Let news channel project what all revenues India getting by tourism/education etc through them. Also Govt. has to cool down some time these issues to avoid retaliation in their countries.
