New Delhi: After 10 days of the announcement of results of the Puducherry Assembly polls, the Congress party on Monday will stake claim to form the government.
In Puducherry, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader V Narayanasamy will call on the Lt. Governor Kiran Bedi today and stake claim to form Government in the Union Territory.
Congress – DMK alliance has 17 members in the 30 member Territorial Assembly. PCC President Namassivayam will accompany Narayanasamy, said AICC Secretary Chinna Reddy.
Namassivayam was a contender for the post of Chief Minister but CLP elected Narayanasamy who is not a member of the house as its leader.
Meanwhile Chinna Reddy said that the party is aware of the contribution of Namassivayam in bringing Congress back to power in the Union Territory, in an obvious effort to pacify the PCC chief.
