Chandigarh: Jats in Haryana on Monday threatened to renew their agitation for reservation from June 5. Security forces have been rushed to various areas all over the state as a precautionary measure.
As per sources in Haryana Police, the police personnel and para-military forces were being stationed in seven sensitive districts - Jind, Kaithal, Bhiwani, Hisar, Sonipat, Jhajjar and Rohtak - to ensure law and order in the state.
Section 144 has been imposed for 60 days in 7 districts of the state under which there will be a complete ban on the gathering of five or more than five people at any place. Carrying sticks, axe, sword, knife or any other sharp-edged weapons will also be prohibited.
As many as 30 people were killed and 320 injured and property worth hundreds of crores was destroyed during the violent agitation earlier this year.
