New Delhi: Satya Nadella, the Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft, on Monday, addressed entrepreneurs and students, in Delhi on the role of technology in accelerating the country's pace towards a digital future. This is, in fact, third visit of the Indian-origin head of Microsoft Corp.
Stressing on the importance of cloud computing, Satya stated, "It is not about celebrating our own technology, it is about celebrating the technology that India creates. I want us to be the platform to foster the ingenuity of the people of India".
On a lighter note, Satya event went on to mention the famous Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib, saying that the poetry and computer science have always been his passion,"Whenever I read hazaron khwahishen aisi ki har khwaish... I interpret it differently. There is so much to it... It also tells us that it is not just your dreams that need to be fulfilled. It's also your ability to dream that is worth dying for," he quipped.
Satya met a few students and the young app developers. He lauded the ideas of young Indian entrepreneurs. Satya also met Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Minister of State for Finance, Jayant Sinha.

Satya first visited India when the company completed 25 years of its operations in India. In the capital city, Nadella was the keynote speaker at an event organized by Microsoft India titled Tech for Good, Ideas for India. Besides Nadella, the event three other speakers who shared the dias with him were - Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Finance and Bhaskar Pramanik, Microsoft Chairman in India.
