Sri Sri Ravishankar asked to pay Rs.5 crore fine by NGT

New Delhi: Two months after the grand cultural event was organized by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living Foundation, the NGT has directed the organization to pay a fine amounting to Rs. 5 crores in compensation, for the damages caused to Yamuna riverbed.
This, indeed, comes as a big blow to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar who claim that the impact assessment of the Yamuna riverbed folowing the even was done incorrectly.

Since beginning, The Art of Living (AoL), founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has been claiming that no environmental damage has been caused to Yamuna floodplains due to the three-day World Cultural event.
The foundation which has made a part payment of Rs. 25 lakh before the commencement of the event,  is yet to pay the entire amount of Rs. 5 crore, as directed by NGT.
The court has also directed the principal committee it had appointed in March to "assess the damage incurred by the World Cultural Foundation to the floodplains" to submit its report by June 8, according to the media reports.

Thats Not correct from NGT

Earlier 125 crore now 5 crore How come ? The NGT should set up an unbiased team of experts to find any loss has happened or not not just go by what environmentalist saying . Art of Living is very responsible organization and they should not be deprived of their rights . Why Bank Guarantee is not accepting by NGT till scientifically its not proven loss has happened or not ?
