No electricity? Delhi discoms ordered to pay penalty

New Delhi: In a major sigh of relief for residents of Delhi, discoms have been ordered by Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) to compensate consumers for outages beyond a stipulated time and other disruptions in supply that aren't fixed within the period fixed by the regulator. 
Penalties can go up to Rs 100/hour. As per DERC's notification, the Delhi Electricity Supply Code and Performance Standard regulations will become immediately effective.
