Varanasi: In a move aimed at eradication of rigid social norms and assimilating the 'backward caste' into the govt's fold, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Tuesday dined at a Dalit's residence in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
The BJP president was accompanied in the meal by few BJP members and individuals belonging to the Dalit community. This move from Amit Shah may be aimed at advocating social harmony in the country.

This is not the first time the BJP have publicly hinted at unbiased assimilation of all people in the society. BJP MP Tarun Vijay was attacked by a frenzied mob after he went with some Dalit leaders into a temple where the entry of backward caste people was forbidden.
