NEW DELHI: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday created a buzz after he shared a gardening tip that may not impress Congress President Sonia Gandhi. He created a sensation on social media especially Twitter after he informed of using his urine to water plants at his bungalow.

Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Gadkari revealed that he used his own urine on plants in his lawns at his 2, Motilal Nehru Marg residence; a bungalow that used to be the office of the former National Advisory Council headed by Sonia Gandhi and is just across the road from her 10, Janpath home.

“I collected my urine in a small 50 litre plastic can and instructed the gardener to water some plants with this. And I am telling you, there was such a big difference, they grew one-and-a-half times bigger than other plants,” he then boasted.

Nitin Gadkari began his story with a disclaimer: “I feel a little awkward but I will tell you about it. Please do not misunderstand. I have done an experiment.”
57-year-old Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India offered his remarks while addressing a workshop organized by his BJP on fighting drought.

The minister then suggested people to not waste the urine and keep storing it as it has urea and nitrogen compounds in it. “If you water an orange tree with this, you will observe its growth rate,” he informed.

The comments from Gadkari have flooded social media with frenzy of jokes and comment on Twitter.
