NEW DELHI: The government on Tuesday made a sensational comment in the Parliament saying that the government had no idea where the Underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim is.
Union Home Affairs Minister Haribhai Chaudhury said in a reply to Parliament, “The most wanted Underworld Don’s whereabouts are unknown and extradition process would be initiated once he is located.”
In November 2014, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had said that we have asked Pakistan to hand over Dawood to India.
Earlier last week, former Delhi Police Commissioner claimed of speaking to the most-wanted gangster. “I spoke to gangster Dawood thrice. He was ready to surrender but he was worried that his rivals could finish him off if he came back to India,” he said, adding, “I assured him of his safety that would be CBI’s responsibility.” (Also Read: Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim wanted to surrender after 1993 Mumbai blasts: Ex-Delhi Police Chief Neeraj Kumar)
