CBI raids in Dhabolkar murder case

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), on Wednesday, conducted searches in an on-going investigation of a case relating to alleged murder of Dr. Narendra Dhabolkar. The raids were conducted at the premises of Sarang Akolkar in Pune and Dr. Virender Singh Tawde in Panvel.
Incidentally, journalist-turned-politico Ashish Khetan had, earlier in the day, claimed that probe agencies had cracked the case and that Sanatan Sanstha and its affiliate, the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJS), were behind the murder. He also claimed that the assailants had been identified.

Dr. Dabholkar was shot dead by two unidentified persons on the Omkareshwar bridge near Balgandharva auditorium in Pune while he was on a morning walk around 7.15 am on August 20, 2013. The assailants had reportedly fled on a two-wheeler.
