Bihar journalist murder: Laddan Miyan, close aide of Shahabuddin, surrenders before Siwan court

Bihar: Laddan Miyan, the key accused in the murder of senior journalist Rajdev Ranjan and a close aide of former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Shahabuddin on Thursday surrendered before the a Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Siwan.

Police had earlier detained five individuals under the suspicion of brutally killing Rajdev Ranjan.




Rajdev Ranjan, a senior journalist at a Hindi daily, was gunned down by unidentified assailants on May 14 after he abruptly left his office. The assailants were riding a motorcycle when they shot down Ranjan with a 9mm pistol.

The murder of another journalist had closely preceded that of Ranjan's. Indradev Yadav was also shot by unidentified men with a 9mm pistol.

After the incident, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had called for a CBI probe into the matter.
