Haryana: The Jat community's protest for reservation which crippled Haryana for 10 days straight is set to resume once again on 5th June amidst a strong voice of condemnation and action against the rioters from Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
A prominent Jat body on Friday confirmed that the Jat agitation which was recently postponed will be rescheduled for 5th June in Haryana. Paramilitary forces are being deployed in riot-sensitive areas.
Places like Sonepat, Rohtak, and other few riot-sensitive areas have been secured with paramilitary forces to curb all incendiary activities which might lead to a riot.
The Jat leader in Haryana seems to have disregarded the fact that the Jat reservation bill was rejected outrightly by the Supreme Court. On top of the reservation demand, several Jat leaders have also demanded that their names be removed from court cases pertaining to their participation in the February 2016 riots.
A total of 30 people were killed in the riots which ensued for 10 days.
