New Delhi: Delhi Police on Friday busted a kidney trade racket which was operating from Apollo Hospital in Delhi and arrested four men and two women in connection with the crime.
A police official said that the accused were arrested from Apollo hospital in south-east Delhi last night. He further added that the police were tipped off about the gang's presence in the hospital from their sources.
Around three middlemen, believed to have sold at least four kidneys were nabbed in Delhi the previous night. Three potential donors, including two women, who were apprehended, are from a village in a neighbouring state, he said.
A case has been registered at the Sarita Vihar police station. The police are probing the gang's reach.
