New Delhi: Clashes broke out between BJP leader Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti supports and cops in Mathura after the BJP leader was stopped from entering the Jawahar Bagh, the spot where 24 people were killed in clashes earlier this week.

Reports say that arguments between BJP workers and police over entry into the Jawahar Bagh area turned violent and led to the violent clashes.

The police say that the BJP leader was stopped from entering the site due to security reasons.

Over 24 people including 2 cops were killed in violent clashes between police and members of ‘Azad Bharat Vidhik Vaicharik Kranti Satyagrahi’. Later on Saturday police recovered a large amount of explosives and arms from the incident site.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has ordered a probe into the incident.
