New Delhi: While addressing a press conference, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson MJ Akbar, on Sunday, congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the party and Amit Shah for receiving the highest civilian award 'Amir Amanullah Khan' from Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
Akbar also appreciated the entire team in Afghanistan as well as India, involved in construction of the dam. PM Modi, on his second visit to Afghanistan in six months, inaugurated the Afghan-India Friendship Dam on Saturday, earlier known as Salma Dam, its second major project in the country after a new parliament complex under New Delhi's development partnership with Afghanistan.
"This dam is not built by bricks and mortar but friendship and valour of Indians and Afghans. Our friendship does not have a sunset clause, our relationship is timeless," PM Modi had said after inaugurating the dam.
Akbar said, “Prime Minister's new foreign policy architecture and Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas initiative has acquired an international status".
“The awards that the PM has been bestowed within the recent times are a testimony of the recognition of the Prime Minister’s foreign policy in regions marked with sustained turbulence,” added Akbar.
