Former Chhattisgarh chief minister and Congress leader Ajit Jogi on Thursday made the announcement of his new party and asked people to suggest a name for it. He said he would like to inculcate new and young faces in his party who would dedicatedly work for Chhattisgarh and help in ending the loot which is going on in the state.
“So now, I think that if I have to win then there is only one way out that I have to lead a different political front. I would like to inculcate new and young faces in my party who would dedicatedly work for Chhattisgarh and help in ending the loot which is going on in the state,” he added.
Jogi said he left the Congress party because he had no choice but to quit to improve the state’s condition as the grand old party was presently working like ‘Team-B’ for the Raman Singh-led state government. He also said that he is under a lot of pressure to revive the state as the present state government is not letting Chhattisgarh develop.
“I have been meeting a lot of people. As of now, I have personally met at least thousand supporters and they all have mounted pressure on me saying if we want to free Chhattisgarh from the rule of Raman Singh then I have to quit Congress, which is acting as the ‘B-Team’ for Raman Singh or otherwise he might win for the fourth time too,” said Jogi.
Jogi’s news of quitting the party came after reports of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi being elevated as the party president started doing the rounds.
