New Delhi: The main event of the International Yoga Day will be organised in Chandigarh with major focus on connecting youth in the country, the AYUSH ministry said on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, a total of 30,000 people are expected to participate in the event, which was last year held at Rajpath in Delhi.
“We have decided to organise the main event of Yoga Day this time in Chandigarh. Anyone who wants to feel the euphoria of the day can visit the city,” Anil Ganeriwala, Joint Secretary AYUSH ministry, said at a conference.
“This time our focus is to connect more and more youth through yoga. A two-day festival will be organised from June 10 to 12,” Ganeriwala said.
Yoga is a mechanism to keep the body in good health. People are not aware how yoga can benefit in terms of preventing health complications. The yoga day will be a huge success like last year, AYUSH Secretary Ajit Saran said.
International Yoga Day is on June 21.
