New Delhi: The Akali Dal-BJP in Punjab on Wednesday finally issued a statement on the controversial 'Udta Punjab' censorship row between Anurag Kashyap and CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani.

The Badals in Punjab said that explicit languages had been used in the film by Punjabis.  They also alleged that Punjabis were referred as "B******s" in the movie and were shown in bad or negative light in the film.

By publicly slamming the Anurag Kashyap movie, it may also explain the reason behind why the Censor Board had expressed concerns with the movie and had suggested 'cuts' to be made.

Udta Punjab is a movie which heavily relies on the menace of drugs among the youth of Punjab and its deteriorating effect on the country. Because exploitation of drugs is a sensitive issue in Punjab and also because the assembly elections are in proximity, the film has raised objections all around the board.

Filmmakers of the movie have moved the Bombay High Court trying to seek a less gravelled road for 'Udta Punjab'.
