New Delhi: Sadhvi Prachi, after delivering a hate speech against Muslims, was on her way to attend a Mahapanchayat in Roorkee on Thursday when cops detained the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader.
"There should be a Muslim-mukt Bharat," Prachi had said, after acknowledging BJP's public stance about the Congress-mukt Bharat after the state assembly elections. The VHP leader had said that they not only wanted a Muslim-free India, they were working towards a Muslim-free India.
"Sharukh Khan's last two films were flop. Now he's trying to appeal to the Hindu people for his films. Aamir Khan's Dangal is soon going to be out, the only Dangal that is going to be created is by rats," Sadhvi said.
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy brushed off Sadhvi Prachi's remarks and said that the best way was to ignore it. "Members have a right to express their opinion; she is a member of our party. If anyone is aggrieved by it, just file a private complaint," the BJP leader, who himself as been embroiled in controversial topics pertaining to the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, said.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav downplayed the incident by saying that people should follow Mahatma Gandhi's principles.
