New Delhi: The superintendent of a children's home in Delhi's Lajpat Nagar was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly sexually abusing six girls. Ram Sahay Meena was arrested after the girls complained that the superintendent sexually assaulted them and then filmed the whole act.
The 45-year-old Meena was immediately sacked and booked under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and for rape under lawful custody.
The incident took place on June 2. The girls then approached the women staffers of the hostel and narrated the whole incident to them. The caretakers reported the crime to the Child Welfare Committee.
The CWC approached the Delhi police and FIR was registered against Meena. He was later arrested on Tuesday evening.
Following the incident, the Delhi govt ordered an enquiry into the incident.
