New Delhi: The teenager behind the Mercedes hit and run case which resulted in the death of a 33-year-old business consultant challenged the High Court's decision on Friday to be tried as an adult.
The Juvenile Justice Board  (JJB) had earlier permitted the Delhi police to try the accused as an adult, saying that the accused was fully cognizant of the gravity of the crime and was indifferent towards the plight of the victim. The High Court also declared that the hearing in the case will be postponed till July 2 of next month.
One of the psychologist who conducted the psychology test of the juvenile said that the accused was indifferent towards life and the safety of others on the road but was mature enough to think of ways to escape from lawful punishment from the offence.
The accused juvenile gave very measured inadequate and evasive replies to the psychologist. “He has the ability to understand the offence and its consequences,” as per the psychologist.
