New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Friday filed a charge sheet against 17 suspected Al-Qaeda members including Maulana Anzar Shah. The charge sheet has been filed against the suspects for motivating people to join the terror outfit that is banned in India.

Earlier, the charge sheet was filed only against five suspects but according to the latest updates on the case, the charge sheet has been filed against 12 more who are absconding.

Maulana Anzar Shah was arrested on January 6 this year by the anti-terrorist Special Cell from Bengaluru on charges of plotting to carry out a series of terror strikes across the country.

The next date of hearing in the case is July 14.
