New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University Student Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar was detained by the police on Friday at Bihar Bhawan for protesting against the alleged ‘witch-hunt’ of Patna Arts college students.

JNU students, along with Kanhaiya, were demanding the suspension of college Principal Chandrabhushan Srivastav, the cancellation of the ongoing examinations and conducting of fresh examinations.

The students were protesting against the crackdown on the Arts College students by Patna Police and JDU goons.

Earlier, violent clashes broke out between the All India Students Federation (AISF) and the JD(U) student wing over an exam schedule.
