Devotees walk on fire as part of ritual of an annual festival in Jalandhar

Jalandhar: In a shocking video, scores of devotees were seen walking on fire as part of ritual of an annual festival in Jalandhar, Punjab.

Devotees across the country gathered in the city for the festival in honour of the goddess Maa Maariamma.

The ritual is performed by fasting for seven days before walking barefoot on the burning coals to appease the deity.

Few days ago, a man accidentally dropped his son onto the hot ground. Bystanders rushed to the rescue and rushed them to hospital.
