New Delhi: In an internal party shuffle of portfolios, Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai was on Tuesday shifted away from the role of Delhi Transport Minister.
Rai met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal last week and requested him to relieve him from the transport department portfolio post. The move comes days after the AAP leader’s name surfaced in the app-based premium bus service scam.
PWD and Health Minister Satyendra Jain will take the charge of Transport ministry from now onwards.
On Monday, Rai had said that he will personally go to the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) to discuss the matter. However, the Opposition said that Rai resigned due to the fallout of the bus scheme.
