Chennai: A father of an 18-year-old has petitioned the Chief Minister's cell on June 14 as his son died at the Raja ji government Hospital in Madurai. The reason behind his son’s death was, he was unable to pay a bribe of Rs 300 demanded by the hospital worker.

G Ganpati had taken his son Rajendra Prasad to a government hospital on May 2, after his son complained of difficult breathing and convulsions. The man who was carrying the stretcher demanded a bribe of Rs.300 and when he did not get the bribe he took the admission slip away.

In the absence of the slip the patient received late treatment by the doctors and this resulted in the loss of his life.

The DMK has demanded strict action against the hospital which is responsible for the death of the 18-year-old.
