New Delhi: Former transport minister Gopal Rai seems to be under a new pile of trouble after NewsX accessed a crucial document which reveals that Gopal Rai bypassed the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung’s office by giving the AAP government’s ambitious app-based premium bus service scheme a green signal.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday alleged that the whole project was a sham and there was corruption involved.
Earlier on Tuesday, in an internal party shuffle of portfolios, Gopal Rai was shifted away from the role of Delhi Transport Minister.
As per reports, Rai has resigned as the transport minister since the department has very heavy workload and given his medical condition, he will not be able to justice to the work.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a series of tweets asked Rai to present himself before the concerned authorities before summons are issued.
On Tuesday, Rai voluntarily presented himself before ACB Chief M K Meena and claimed that the probe agency is "totally clueless" to substantiate the graft charges in the scheme.
