New Delhi: The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday, June 15, lashed out at the electricity officials of Saleempur constituency after the locals complained about the repeated power cuts in the holy month of Ramadan.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief inspected the situation after the locals’ complaints about the deliberate power cuts in the area during their ‘iftaar’ and ‘sehri’. Mr. Kejriwal slammed the officials of the electric department and directed them that no power-cuts due to cable failure should occur.
“No power cuts will be tolerated during Iftar and Sehri” said the Chief Minister. Commenting on the issue of power supply the official from the BSES Yamuna Power Limited, which is responsible for the electricity supply said that the power theft is rampant situation in Saleempur area and also many times the power is cut-off due to overload. The officer further informed Kejriwal that 50 new transformers will be placed in the area so solve the problem.
Earlier, Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain had on Tuesday written to Reliance ADA chairman Anil Ambani asking him to meet with a roadmap and plan to improve BSES’s performance in the state.
