Thane: In a shocker being reported from Mumbai, a 22-year-old youth was brutally thrashed by three men after he refused to help them in a murder.

The victim, later identified as Vinod Kunda Rapu, who resides at the Kamathghar area, was attacked with a knife by Afroz (24), Ramesh (25) and Fiaz (24) after he refused to assist them in a contract killing on Wednesday, June 15.

Police, while investigating the case, said that Vinod was waylaid and was not allowed to escape. However, the accused fled the spot after passers-by gathered. The victim was later taken to a nearby hospital.

Police confirmed that the four accused have been booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Efforts are being made on to nab the accused who fled away from the crime scene, police sub Inspector (PSI) AR Mahajan said.
