Mumbai: Controversies just don’t seem to stop for ‘Udta Punjab’. After overcoming the hurdles created by the censor board, a faction of Shiv Sena, Hindu Suraksha Samiti, and other radical Hindu organisations held a protest against the screening of the film outside the Omaxe Mall in Mumbai.
The protestors carried placards and raised slogans against the producers and director. Harish Singla, the man leading the protest against the film said, “The film is depicting Punjab in a wrong way as it is portraying that the entire state is in the grip of drugs. The film is full of vulgar dialogues, which is against Punjab.”
Anticipating the protest against the film, Mumbai police had already deployed forces in order to maintain the law and order in the state.
However, despite the protest, a large number of viewers, especially students, were seen standing in queues to buy tickets outside the mall.
