Bihar: In a shocker from Bihar’s Nalanda district, a 50-year-old Dalit man lost his life due to hunger on Friday. The hunger-stricken victim identified as Ramsurat had been deprived of food for almost 10-20 days.
The DM of Nalanda district, Tyagraj SM, while citing the medical report tried to pass off the incident as terminal illness, denying ‘starvation’ as the reason for the death.
The Nalanda district is also the home of Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, who came to power in Bihar for a second consecutive term. The deceased is survived by his 8-year-old, who said that his father had not eaten anything from past 20 days.
However, a JD (U) leader commented on the incident saying that as per the medical reports Ramsurat died due to terminal illness.
Meanwhile, the poor 8-year-old is left alone to battle hunger and poverty for his survival.
