New Delhi: The Zimbabwe police on Sunday made a startling allegation when it said that one of the Indian cricketers on Zimbabwe tour was involved in a rape case.

The BCCI has come out to deny the Indian cricket team's involvement in the rape case and has said that it was one of the individual from the sponsor team who had been accused of rape.

The accused was arrested from the Meikles Hotel in Harare, Zimbabwe, the same hotel where the Indian cricket team is currently residing in.

However, sources have denied any links of the Indian cricket team with the rape case. The accused in custody has denied the charges and has said that he is ready for DNA test to prove his innocence.

The police believe that the victim was drugged before the rape had taken place.

If the Zimbabwean authorities' reports are confirmed as true, then it will leave an indelible mark upon the Indian cricket team and also raise questions about the current cricket tour.
