Theft of battery box in Mahim brings Western Railway service to halt in Mumbai

Mumbai: A technical snag at Dadar station brought life of millions of Mumbaikars to halt on Monday morning as train services were stopped till 12:20 between Churchgate and Bandra. 
As per reports, the suburban services on Western Railway (WR) were affected for two hours due to the theft of a battery box at the Mahim Electric Sub Station. 
This led to cancellation of many trains and many ran late by 30-40 minutes. 
The sudden termination in train service led to over-crowding in train and platforms. This disruption even led people to swap their means to transport they preferred to choose Western Express Highway and SV road.
