New Delhi: After the BCCI issued clarification on the Indian national accused of rape in Zimbabwe, the accused man was identified on Wednesday as belonging to one of the sponsor teams in the Zimbabwe tour.
Krishna Satyanarayana, a consultant of the sponsor company iTeamworks, was identified as the man accused of raping a woman at the Meikles Hotel in Harare, Zimbabwe. Narayana is an Indian businessman residing in Zambia who is involved in organising matches in Zimbabwe.
Narayana was present at the third ODI played between India and Zimbabwe where the businessman handed a cheque to the Man of the Match.
If reports are to be believed, there is another man in the picture who is also accused of taking part in the rape. The man is allegedly the co-founder of the iTeamWorks organisation.
After the news emerged, BCCI president Anurag Thakur had himself clarified on the matter to quell suspicions regarding any Indian cricketers' involvement in the rape case.
