Chennai: In a shocking incident from Chennai, a man bit his wife's earlobe after a domestic dispute between them at old Washermenpet.
The 35-year-old bit-off his wife's earlobe after they got into a bitter quarrel. The victim, identified as Kavitha, is currently undergoing treatment at Government Stanley Medical College and Hospital where doctorsm plan to perform an ear-reconstruction surgery.
The incident took place when Kavitha's husband who was badly drunk came home and pestered her for money which led to a heated argument between the two, during which Kesavan, the husband, banged Kavitha's head against the wall and tried to strangulate her.
When Kavitha tried to escape, he went a step ahead and bit her earlobe off. The 10-year-old daughter of the couple ran to garner help from her neighbours after she woke up after hearing the brawl between the two.
Adding to the incident Kavitha said, "Though I had a severe pain, I did not know that he had severed part of my ear until I touched and felt it."
"It was too dark and we could not trace the earlobe. We just rushed her to the hospital," added her mother Karupayiammal.
As per sources, police had earlier warned Kesavan, who works in a printing press, four times for assaulting his wife.
The 35-year-old victim, Kavitha takes care of her two children with the money she earns from her job in an export firm.
