Rain disrupts Char Dham Yatra

Dehradun: This is bad news for devotees planning for Char Dham yatra, as heavy rains for the past 48 hours and overcast weather conditions have disrupted the air service to Kedarnath shrine.
The route towards the Badrinath shrine was also disrupted for hours due to landslide on NH 58 as heavy rain continued to
pour down in the region. According to local reports, the Kedarnath Badrinath highway was affected by continues rainfall and was blocked near Soneprayag.
Lashing rains in the region have also interrupted President Pranab Mukherkee’s visit who went for ‘darshan’ to Kedarnath shrine on Wednesday.
Char Dham Yatra, which is one of the most visited pilgrimage circuits, witnessed massive floods in 2013 after it was hit by a cloud burst and heavy rains for days. Thousands of people who were on the way lost their lives and many were injured.
