Chennai: A shocker from Chennai came to light when a man who had murdered his wife and three stepdaughters on Tuesday lived with their dead bodies until Thursday night. He was finally arrested on Friday, June 25.
The accused, identified as Chinnaraj, 35, a native of Bargur in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu was living with Pandiammal and her three daughters — Pavithra, 19, Parimala, 18, and Sneha, 16 in a rented first floor accommodation in a residential building on Muthu Street, right next to the Royapettah police station.
The deceased Pandiammal was reportedly protecting her daughters from Chinnaraj by keeping them away from him ever since he started coming home in an inebriated condition and ogling them.
The couple had a fresh quarrel over the intolerable behaviour of Chinnaraj. After the quarrel, he stormed out of the house; later he came home drunk and was made to sleep outside.
Filled with anger and shame Chinnaraj woke up during the late hours of the night and smashed the heads of Pandiammal, Pavithra, and Parimala and strangled Sneha using a wire.
The police was informed by Chinnaraj’s landlord on Thursday, June 24, evening after a foul smell emanated from the house.
Later, the killer was nabbed by the police when he came to collect his scooter parked on Marina Beach.
