AAP govt approves 769 posts for Punjabi, 610 posts for Urdu teachers.

New Delhi: The AAP govt has approved 769 posts for Punjabi teachers and 610 posts for the Urdu teachers in the govt schools in the national capital. “Each Govt school in Delhi will have 1 Urdu, 1 Punjabi and one Sanskrit teacher,” an official from the AAP govt said.

The Opposition, meanwhile, lashed out at the Delhi govt saying that AAP govt is indulging into divisive identity politics and called the attempt an assault on the merit.

The move is being seen in the light of the upcoming Punjab elections as an attempt to woo the voters in Punjab.

The move raises serious questions over what about non-Punjabis living in the national capital or is the Kejriwal govt trying to send out a message that ‘identity weighs more than the merit.’
