New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was left red-faced after a woman pecked him on the cheek at a public meeting held in Bengaluru on Sunday.
The incident took place at a programme to felicitate newly elected members of zilla panchayats and taluk panchayats, organised by the Karnataka Pradesha Kuruba Sangha. The Chief Minister hails from the Kuruba community.
Girija Srinivas, a panchayat member from Chikmagalur district joyfully gave a peck on his cheek after she was felicitated.
Later, she told media that Siddaramaiah is like her father and there is nothing wrong in it.
Girija belongs to Varuna in Mysuru district, which is Siddaramaiah's assembly constituency. She is married to a man from Chikmagalur.
