Chennai: In a tragic incident, a 21-year-old woman ended her life in Tamil Nadu’s Salem, after she saw her morphed picture on a Facebook page. The girl hanged herself in her bedroom when her parents were out.
The victim was a B.Sc student who faced harassment on Facebook after some of her semi-nude pictures were uploaded on Facebook. Her father complained with the Magudanchavadi police station but it went unheard.
The family claims that police did not take any steps to remove the photos from the social networking site even after several complaints.
After the protest by the family members, the cops have finally begun their investigation into the matter and the girl’s body has been sent to the Salem General Hospital for post mortem.
