New Delhi: The second trial of high-speed Talgo train will begin in the first week of July. The trial run will be conducted from Palwal in Haryana to Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura city, in a series of phases to test the riding, safety and stability of Talgo trains.
“The speed trials which will begin on July 7, will continue till the end of July,” sources said.
Indian Railways last month conducted the first trial run on the Bareilly-to-Moradabad stretch in Uttar Pradesh.
“The test train consisted of one locomotive fit for 180 kmph along with one VIP coach, one first class coach, one cafeteria coach and four second class coaches,” a statement from the ministry said.
The trials will be conducted with empty coaches and later with sand bags filling the passenger sitting spaces.
