Chennai: In what can be termed a big breakthrough in the Chennai techie murder case, the Chennai police have confirmed that Swathi was being stalked for two months. A massive manhunt has been launched by the police to nab the techie’s stalker.
The 25-member team, headed by the Nungambakkam Assistant Commissioner of Police, have ruled out the involvement of a contract killer and a possibility of mistaken identity. More details of the murderer have also been put out. The murderer is around 5 feet 4 inches tall, wheatish, lean and around 25-30 years old.
Police are now accessing and monitoring all the CCTV footages from around the Mahendra Tech City where Swathi lived. Also, videos from around her office are being collected.
A Hyderabad-based firm is also helping the police in putting out a clearer picture of the killer accessed from the CCTV footage.
The two CTV footages which were released this week, have also been sent to Hyderabad for trying to get a clearer and better quality video, in order to nab the culprit who is still at large.
