New Delhi: Fire erupted on Thursday in three separate incidents in the state of Bihar, Maharashtra and Punjab. However, the fire at Andheri West, Mumbai has proved the most volatile as eight people lost their lives and two others were severely injured.

A medical store in Andheri West, Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra witnessed heavy fire in the morning. Possibly sparked by short circuit, eight people in the busy neighbourhood lost their lives while two others got badly injured.

In Bihar, at the Hajipur area, a total of twelve shops gradually caught fire. It is suspected that the fire erupted from a single shop and spread into the rest of the shops.

The Amritsar Railway Station was also inundated with fire as the ticket counter of the station erupted in flames. No one was injured in the incidence.

Fire-fighters have doused the flames in all these instances.
