New Delhi: Somya Gurjar, Rajasthan State Commission for Women member, thought it appropriate on Wednesday that she should click a selfie with a rape survivor.
Somya, along with the Chairperson of the women commission Suman Sharma, had yesterday gone to the Mahila police station at North Jaipur to meet a rape victim.
In a picture of the Somya taking a selfie clicked by a third person gathered in the room, the State Commission member is seen posing a selfie alongside with the rape survivor while the chairperson held the hand of the survivor.
I am not justifying the 'selfie', that was wrong :Suman Sharma (chairperson of Rajasthan State Commission for Women pic.twitter.com/GXtCBaaEsh

Suman Sharma, when asked about this insensitive gesture, said, "I was talking to the victim when the member of the commission clicked these pictures. I am not aware when she clicked. I do not favour such acts and have sought a written explanation from her. She has been asked to submit the application by tomorrow."
