New Delhi: The Gandhi stronghold of Amethi and Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh has lost its third mega industrial project in just two years.

It has been learned that on June 10, a joint secretary and Ministry Of Heavy Industry And Public Enterprises sent an official communicate to the Uttar Pradesh government of its decision to surrender a plot of land in Trisundi Amethi.

The plot was meant for setting up the National Centre for Vehicle Research and Safety (NCVRS) project.

The government said that NCVRS facilities need not be concentrated at a single location.

The decision is surely a big setback for the people of Amethi. It remains to be seen whether Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will be taking up this issue with the Centre.
