Performance-enhancing drug overdose claims lives of 3 police aspirants

New Delhi: At least three police aspirants have died in Haryana in the past few days, during a recruitment drive that was being conducted for the position of constable.
Doctors suspect that the reason behind the deaths is drug over dose. They suspect the aspirants were under the influence of performance-enhancing drugs. Meanwhile the cops have said that they are investigation the matter.
As per reports, a police recruitment drive is on in Haryana. This drive that began on June 15 will continue till July 4 and it is estimated that nearly 5 lakh candidates will participate for the 10,000 posts of constables in the Haryana Police.
During the test the candidates have to run a distance of 5 km in a total of 25 minutes. This precondition that exists in the selection process, allegedly forces many young aspirants to turn to drugs to help them in achieving their fitness goals.
