New Delhi: A 19-year-old girl hailing from Adilabad district in Telangana was murdered in broad daylight by a dejected man who had been refused marriage by the girl — vaguely similar to the daylight murder of Infosys employee Swathi.
Mahesh, who had been torturing Sandhya for two years with love and marriage proposals, used a blade to slit Sandhya's throat in broad daylight. Sandhya had rejected Mahesh's overtures many a times and her family also knew that Mahesh was bothering Sandhya.
It was on Saturday when Sandhya went out to the market to a grocery store when Mahesh slit her throat with a blade. Sandhya instantly succumbed to her injuries.
The 19-year-old girl was from the same colony as the accused person. She was studying engineering at a government college.
The accused Mahesh has been nabbed by police and has been taken into custody.
Earlier on Friday last week, a 24-year-old woman employee of Infosys was hacked to death at Chennai's Nungambakkam railway station.
