Ramkumar was sent to judicial custody for 15 days

New Delhi: Ramkumar, the accused in the murder of Infosys techie S Swathi was sent to judicial custody for 15 days on Sunday. The 22-years-old who hails from Meenakshipuram village sent confessional details on the previous day.

Ramkumar was arrested from Senkottai in Tirunelveli of southern Tamil Nadu on Friday night. He tried to commit suicide by slitting his throat with a sharp object when they came to nab him.

The accused is now in stable condition.

The Chennai police said Ramkumar had been staying near Swathi’s house in Choolaimedu area for the last three months. He was stalking her continuously and had even followed her few times.

On June 24, Swathi was brutally murdered in broad daylight while she was waiting at platform of the railway station to board a train.
