New Delhi: A day after a video of Congress leader Digvijaya Singh applauding Islamic preacher Zakir Naik surfaced online, Singh retaliated at accusations levelled against him for sharing the stage with the controversial preacher.
Singh took to Twitter to share his piece of mind on the matter, "I am being criticised for sharing stage with Zakir Naik, but what about Rajnath Singh ji meeting bomb blast accused Pragya Thakur?"
Pragya Singh Thakur was convicted and arrested for her alleged involvement in the 2008 Malegaon blasts which killed 8 and injured 80.
Not relenting on defending himself, the Congress leader also raised questions about why there had been no backlash against Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for meeting Zakir Naik. "Pragya is an accused in bomb blast, is there a case against Zakir Naik as yet? What about Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji sharing stage with Zakir?" Singh tweeted.
In the video which emerged online on Thursday, Digvijaya Singh can be seen praising Zakir Naik and calling him the messenger of peace. The Islamic preacher who resides in Mumbai has garnered national attention after the Dhaka terrorists professed that they were inspired by his teachings.
