New Delhi: Amidst the unrest prevailing in the state of Jammu and Kashmir following the death of Burhan Wani on Friday, leading airlines to bring relief to passengers travelling on that route have announced some waivers.

According to reports, Jet Airways in an announcement waived off all cancellation and re-booking charges, a Jet airways spokesperson said.

Vistara airline is also offering free date and flight change and cancellation with full refund, to customers travelling to and from Srinagar in the next 7 days (upto and including July 17),  if they so request. This offer is also applicable to customers originating in other cities and connecting to Srinagar via Delhi.

"While we are constantly monitoring the situation, our Srinagar flights are currently operating as per schedule. We also request customers departing Srinagar to report at the airport 3 hours prior to departure in view of enhanced security measures and increased crowding at the airport," said the Vistara spokesperson.

National carrier Air India too decided to waive applicable penalties of re-issuance, date change, no-show, cancellation and refund charges for travel from/to Srinagar for both domestic and international flights, on all tickets issued on/before 9th of July 2016 for travel during the period 9th to 11th July 2016.
